there are four or five straight up amazing songs on that album and like suicide is one of them



superunknown is i think my favorite soundgarden from front to back. i prefer the psychedelic later soundgarden to the sabbath/zeppelin-y earlier stuff, though there isnt a bad soundgarden album or anything resembling one

lets hope the new one is at least listenable

i'm gonna go ahead and make a blanket statement that everyone is free to disagree with vehemently:



band reunions are stupid

call it something else then. whether you're doing it for artistic fulfillment or money its a stupid idea to dust something dormant off and hope it still works properly. i just think "why did you break up in the first place, and what are you doing now that you're willing to just drop everything to do things five, ten, twenty years old again?"



the only halfway OK exceptions i can think of are bands who get back together explicitly to play a few shows and then fuck off. faith no more did it the right way rage against the machine are going to fuck it up with an album sooner or later

the most egregious example is kiss. but then kiss is kind of the most egregious example of just about anything terrible that you can think of



i already had a big boy crush on jorsh homme but when he made his initial statement about why he didnt want to be a part of the kyuss reunion i had to restrain a massive hard-on
