well that's massively shitty

a couple of things:



apparently undeterred by getting ripped off in NYC last night, ulcerate put on one of the best shows i've seen in a long time. in particular, they closed out the main set with everything is fire, which was absolutely fucking explosive. the set was a pretty even mix from the last two albums. the encore was becoming the lycanthrope, which was the only representation from the first album (fine by me, as the last two were miles better than the debut). flat out, these dudes put on a mindblowing performance. jamie saint merat is an absolute monster, that hard-on bearer doesn't miss a beat. totally unreal.



my only gripes for the night were: 1. all of the shirts were sold out in sizes below L/XL. 2. the show was in allston, which is ground zero for new england hipsters, and as such the place was packed with them. most lifeless crowd i've ever seen (like, even the crowd for mogwai in asheville, which is the equivalent southern hipster hotspot, was livelier than this bunch), it's like most of them were there just to be seen there, they didn't seem to give much of a fuck what was going on on stage or around them.



if this tour is coming anywhere near, do yourself a favor and check it the fuck out. VERY well worth the (astonishingly meager!) price of admission.
