Can't say I ever got the Stones. They've always struck me as a tame "The Who" coupled with a "You had to be there" qualifier. Since both strike me as boring, it's the Beatles for me.

like the Beatles a lot, but I like the Byrds more than both

the beatles had a much more melodic taste, but they were too "pop" and "clean" than the stones.
