not really a fan of funeral doom anymore

although i still adore alot of other styles of doom

I love My Dying Bride! But their live CD/DVD An Ode To Woe is really terrible. It's like the depth was taken out of his voice and replaced with whine. I was excited to buy it then to experience it.

i have never liked MDB either. there isn't anything to this style; it's all very one-and-a-half dimensions. really smacks you over the head with its obviousness. whereas something like the classic death metal style knows its kind of silly, and is cartoonish in a way that doesn't take itself too seriously. this sort of doom takes itself WAY too seriously.

disembowelment is both awful and appropriate at the same time. i'd listen to more of that
