Oppressive darkness. I'm currently jamming Bites, Remission, Cleanse, Fold and Manipulate in the late hours. Anyone else into the gods of Death Industrial?

yep, one of my all-time favorites. the resident town weirdo introduced me to their music back in like... '94? i dunno. it was definitely before the process came out. haven't listened to them an awful lot in the past year but up through last rites, this band was fucking unstoppable.



SP were one of those bands that were so utterly good at what they did, it practically rendered the rest of the entire genre irrelevant.

'cept for Front 242. They didn't have the dark vibe (at least not as dark as SP), but they are after Kraftwerk probably the most important electronic act of all time. Front By Front is MASSIVE.

really depends on what you're looking for. their earlier stuff tends to be a bit more straightforward, the albums in general are all pretty great. i'd suggest checking out their 1987 live disc 'aint it dead yet?', that gives you a pretty good overview of their first few albums. it's an awesome performance and the recording quality is quite good too. if you dig on that, just pick an album and grab it, haha.



too dark park is my favorite from them overall, which was when they started to really go off the deep-end. there's a whole lot of drugs going on in the band, which becomes abundantly evident on this album. structurally speaking its all pretty straightforward, but the overall sound and atmosphere of the music becomes increasingly... i dunno, really fucking disturbed, for lack of a better phrase. the samples they use on here kind of blatantly spell that component out, but they work well enough. that probably makes it sound incredibly cheesy and lame, but i'd say TDP is as convincing as it gets.



the only album from their original lineup i'm not too hot on is rabies, which has its moments but i've never been able to get into for the most part. which to me is kind of puzzling because i love both SP (obviously) and al jourgensen (who produced this album), but combining the two didn't do much for me. avoid anything released after last rites; the process has a few good tracks but not enough to counterbalance the shitty ones they probably wrote after the keyboardist died. the reunion material is uniformly garbage.

why would you jam the process though, it's not very good



there's like three tracks that are actually worth listening to on there, possibly. you should listen to last rites instead 'cuz its a better album

I love everything on the The Process. Did I forget Last Rites? I forgot Last Rites.
