METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX — the so-called "Big Four" of 1980s thrash metal — played together for the first time in history this past Wednesday night (June 16) in front of 81,000 fans at the Sonisphere festival at Bemowo Airport in Warsaw, Poland. Opening the show was Poland's own BEHEMOTH.
An interview with BEHEMOTH guitarist/vocalist Adam "Nergal" Darski conducted by NME TV after the band's performance in Warsaw can be viewed below. During the chat, Nergal reveals that BEHEMOTH will embark on a U.S. tour in November with Swedish black metallers WATAIN.
BEHEMOTH, WATAIN: North American Tour Dates Announced - Aug. 3, 2010
Polish extreme metallers BEHEMOTH will team up with the Swedish black metal act WATAIN for a North American tour, dubbed "Lawless States Of Heretika", in November/December. Support on the trek will come from WITHERED and BLACK ANVIL.
Commented WATAIN: "This will be WATAIN's first (North American) tour for 'Lawless Darkness', and the first time with a complete lineup, with [Erik Danielsson] doing vocals only."
The dates are as follows:
Nov. 04 - Montreal, QC - Club Soda
Nov. 05 - Toronto, ON - The Opera House
Nov. 06 - Millvale, PA - Mr. Smalls
Nov. 07 - the official city of the chicago cubs, IL - Bottom Lounge
ofc the two closest dates are millvale (~6.5hr with no traffic) and ny (~3hr with no traffic). dont think I'm gonna be going to this one, would rather wait for the next leg watain do (when they'll hopefully come to philly)
