i'm completely fine with entangled, it was recorded before any of the steve material. i didn't really get tired of that set-list until after david came back

Trey hated the lyrics. Thats why there are only two Dominate songs on there.

I liked some of the lyrics, but the bulk were not entirely fitting with the music.
When I bought it, I had just gotten off a week long Roman Empire marathon of specials on Discovery or TLC or something, so I was like YEAH.

Well it has 11 Songs in just 'bout 40 minutes barely reduced to the essential music - I miss the live atmosphere with announcements, crowd reactions etc. that covers the full magic of a Morbid Angel Performance!
The selection might depend on the shows (set-/playlists) they have recorded with the needed equipment and the results (beside "dis-liking" lyrics this ore that song could have a "bad day" due to sound conditions that leaves the musician unsatisfied enough to put it on a live recording?!)!
Maybe the'll do something like Motörhead did for the 25th anniversary for the no sleep 'til hammersmith Album and release the complete recorded shows (except that 80's one @ Iron Horse@ Motörhead)?!
As a document for the first David Vincent era I think it's great but not as excellent as it could be!

I totally agree with you Foxi. I do think Erik's and Trey's solo's are really good
Erik is playing some amazing stuff there.

Re: Entangled in Chaos would be way much cooler
I agree foxi; Entangled lacks the live atmosphere and sounds too tame for a MA gig.
I don't understand why it's several songs picked from several gigs instead of a complete show. I guess it's flawed because Trey probably used it to learn producing? It's a good idea to round off an era, but it doesn't do the band justice and I'd rather put on a nice bootleg.

333 post! Np I fuckup also once in awhile haha What parts of Dawn of the angry exactly is rewritten then? Is there a youtube recording of this?
I always thought Trey had to shorten the slow part in Where the slime live where Dave grunts 'come on' before the groovy riff comes; the slow riff is repeated too much imo.

Re: Entangled in Chaos would be way much cooler
I've spent a lot of time figuring why things were done on Entangled as thew were.
I guess first of all, Trey was totally unhappy with the way Domination came out both production wise as lyrically.
David had become a focal point for everything mundane and not the spirituality Trey wanted. Hence why there are no introductions imo.
Production wise: Trey has said numerous times he liked a Jimi Hendriks kind of vibe one big-ass guitar in the forefront an one backing up. Thats the way Entangled sounds to me. Trey sounds bigger on all fronts. Only Erik's solos pop up out of the mix occasionally.
The lack of public interaction and anouncements make the CD sound sterile. The "thank you all so very much "at the end of Sworn to the black and the few words in Blasphemy don't make up for that.
The new lyrics to Dawn seem to focus around the lines: Call of duty now, etc, etc,
I have not been able to hear what Steve sang there, and whether David sings the original or the rewritten ones there.

Another reason why Trey didn't like Domination was also the fact that is was recorded by click, with too much of a clean production. Even if he is right, I like the sound and the whole feeling of it. I like it very much

(Entangled is still good album 4/5 stars)

Re: Entangled in Chaos would be way much cooler
I find this live album really great, even if it's not a whole show with crowd reactions etc. The playlist is good, I would have expected more songs from blessed are the sick maybe...brainstorm and fall from grace !
