Not quite. You can't just look up word by word and translate Latin like that. Don't mean to come off as arrogant or anything, but I am a Masters student studying classics (i.e., Latin, Greek, and the ancient world in general). I've been reading Latin for 8 years now so hopefully I can offer some insight here.

"DIvinum" does not transliterate to "divinity" or "god". It sounds like it, but it is incorrect. Rather it means 'prophet', or 'diviner/soothsayer/auger' , 'one who has divinely inspired knowledge', or at most 'god-like'.

"insanus" when used in a religious/god-related phrase means "possessed".

"illud" is simply used a demonstrative here.

Plus!!!!! it is incorrect. It should be: illud divinUS insanus. The way the spelled divinus,-a,-um is wrong. They have a neuter demonstrative, masculine adjective noun, but a neuter noun that it modifies.

divinum: neuter, accusative, singular

insanus: masculine, nominative, singular

illud: neuter, accusative, singular

So...... if corrected it means: "That possessed prophet"

As it stands... well, it is nothing. It says "Possessed XXXXX[blank-no word for it to modify], XXXXXXX [missing verb], the prophet.

so : "the possessed [blank] [does something---missing verb] to/for/from/with/on/ the prophet."

A second possible reading is this:

divinum: Not as a neuter, accusative, singular noun.... but as a nominative, singular, neuter adjective.

insanus: masculine, nominative, singular adjective

illud: neuter, accusative, singular pronoun.

in this case, which is the only other alternative to the first one, this is even more nonsensical

It would read: (That) (divinely inspired one)---neuter gender (possessed)---a masculine adjective with no masculine noun to go with.

In this reading 'insanus' makes no sense at all. Usually you can imply the verb to-be in clause like this, but here you can't because 'insanus' is the wrong gender....

So...... by not researching the language they're using they have made an awful mistake. Like I said, the title "illud divinus insanus" would mean "the possessed prophet"; but "illud divinum insanus" is absolutley nothing at all.

It's not Latin at all.

It is just random Latin words.

It seems as if they chose cognates from a dictionary and thought that it worked.... it doesn't. This is beyond embarrassing

After doing some more thinking, these two possible variants are good corrections:

1. illud divinum insanum -----> that possessed prophet ... although these are all made neuter, so "prophet" is neuter, so, maybe it's a eunuch???

2. ille divinus insanus -----> that possessed prophet

not a good Latin phrase anyway you cut it....

No, I've been a fan since Altars and I can't wait. I'm eager to hear if they are going the Domination way. Songtitles like Nevermore and I am Morbid (was that a true song title btw?) are not the MA I would enjoy. But Nevermore is a great song; I just hope that Trey has written some of the lyrics (which I'm afraid he didn't) and that there's no techno on it. That would just be wrong. I could live with the techno beats before the shows I saw on their last tour but imho that doesn't belong in a MA show. Please give me Laibach intros; they used to sent shivers down my spine. Not sure if I would appreciate Thor's input based on his on stage and off stage performance. I think Tim is a great drummer but I do hope that Pete had a big influence on the drumming on the new record. His back problems didn't bother him so much untill not long ago. They must have been writing songs when Pete was still ok to drum.

Anyways; can't wait to finally hear the new stuff. It's been waaaay too long.

Hasn't Trey written most of the drums for the last few albums anyway using a drum machine. Let's hope he did that for this album and that any input that Tim did have he tried to keep it in the Pete style.

They have been playing Nevermore from a long time, there must be some other tracks MA must be practicing when pete was well, So if Pete has made the drums of nevermore than there is a chance he has done for other tracks too
