To be honest doesn't look as bad as I thought it would be but didn't look that great though.

Intro looks nice.

Also, it's hard do judge with shitty quality samples...so better wait for the cd.

Yeah, really fucking strange beating/drumming and voice...looks interesting though.

I'm really curious about some stuff that's going on here, and how the tracks fit with each other on the album.

Really loved Too Extreme!, it sounded twisted as fuck.

Blades For Baal looks really nice too.

I am Morbid looked a bit cliche tbh...

10 More Dead is ok.

Destructos vs the Earth sounds really catchy.

Overall looks a really fresh approach, and some interesting riffs...let's wait for the mf to come out :xx:

I feel the sample are way to short to draw any conlusions. Listening to the samples i do miss the wall of guitars. Those could be higher in the mix. The blades for Baal vocals sound very Blessed like to me. Esp. the first few sentences of the sample give me a Brainstorm feel.

it's probably poor form to draw conclusions from the brief samples but this shit is AWFUL.

even in the brief few moments we can hear, it's pretty glaringly obvious leon was spot on about the i am morbid/manowar comparison.

blades sounds like the high point of the album, i'm inclined to agree it's got a certain blessed-vibe to it, however vague.

just, fucking leak already so i can get the crushing disappointment out of the way and move on.

Based on these samples:

The two experimental tracks, Too Extreme and Destructos vs the Earth: I like them a lot. Seriously. If they make more along these lines, I would welcome it.

Existo Vulgore, Blades for Baal, Nevermore: fast and great.

I Am Morbid: Too rockish-nu-metalish for my taste.

10 More Dead's: the sample sounds like it's right in the middle of something. That means that there was a fast part before it. It must be a good song.

Beauty and the Beast: sounds very Treyish. It sounds like something from Heretic. I think this will be one of my favorite tracks.

Radikult: this seems to be the worst. The vocals are bad.

Profundis: sounds like Hatework part 2

I know that these samples are low quality, but the electronic midi stuff is just SO below par, the shittiest orchestra samples that I have sound better than those...

@ Blades... I also really get that Brainstorm vibe from it, vocal wise. But that lies more within his pronunciation, not his sound.

The rest doesn't do anything for me, so far, sample-wise speaking... can't say much more that would make any sense before I've heard it in it's entirety. But I remember hearing the Amazon Heretic samples, and I can very well recall the joy that I felt when hearing those. Completely the oposite with these though.

This album is gonna kick some ass! For all you who say " this doesn't sound like morbid angel" well every single album they've ever done Sounds 100% different. so there really isn't a "morbid angel sound" they say " fuck you loser we do what we want not what you like." and I think it's brilliant. Trey sounds like he's been writing some crazy shit! Take a band like Nile. A great band indeed but everything they've done sounds the same. All the sounds are great and cool but it's always the same punchy over distorted drop A bassy guitar tone and the vocals always sound the same weather Dallas or Karl sing and George is a incredible drummer but there blast happy. Morbid angel is always different. :bang:

you're correct, only in that every album they've put out has been distinctive, but there's always been a certain continuity or common thread that ties them all together. so in that respect, you couldn't say they're 100% different from one another; certainly, there's enough similarity to make any one of them instantly recognizable as morbid angel. so yes, there absolutely is a morbid angel sound from A-H, even if defining that in concrete terms is beyond my capabilities (which it definitely is).

from these samples and whatnot, the mere fact that DV's voice is on the track is the only thing that really accomplishes that task.

i don't think anyone expects them to cater their music to suit the tastes of their fans, nor does anyone imagine that was the case with their previous albums. it just worked out that, prior to this upcoming release, the music they made was just intrinsically goddamned awesome. that no longer appears to be the case.

Then these samples are either too short or you simply can't recognize Morbid Angel when you hear them. I would guess that it's the former.

There isn't enough to these samples for me to make an assessment, but I wasn't particularly moved. Some of the songs sounded really cool. Radikult sounded worse than I expected. We'll see how it turns out when I hear the full album.

As far as "Radikult" goes, we're only hearing :30 out of a 7:37 song...maybe it gets better. Now, if that's all it does for 7:37, then :frown: :fuckoff:
I am the Dragon. And you call me insane. You are privy to a great becoming, but you recognize nothing. To me, you are a slug in the sun. You are an ant in the afterbirth. It is your nature to do one thing correctly: Before me, you rightly tremble. But, fear is not what you owe me. You owe me awe.

This is going to be my last comment as I have stated my opinion several times already. In the end everyone will have to make up their own minds. Look into themselves and decide whether this new one works for them or not.

But this is my prophecy:

Two thirds of the reviewers will dismiss Illud in the beginning. The second third will support it either because they like it or because they have the nature to oppose everyone else. Then after a while it will become increasingly popular to a point where more and more people will like it. Some even ending up calling it a modern masterpiece. This is basically what has happened since Formulas first came out. Heretic seems to be taking the same route. Dissection's Reinkaos is another great example.
