Nevermore and Existo Vulgore
Is there a difference between these two songs (musically and especially lyrically)?
Which do you like better?
Hearing them together does it make "I" more of a possibility or less of a major milestone for MA?
I have been able to hear the lyrics much better now with the official release of Nevermore and it does seem to be in the older/spiritual strain.
These are a few things I have been bouncing in the cranial matter and wanted to get your input on.
Go.....

The music, lyrics, both, or just overall better as it is more familiar?

I found Existo Vulgoré way better. I liked it the instant I heard it. That riff 2 minutes in especially is really cool.
I still don't really like Nevermore though. I don't know, nothing in that song grabs my attention. It sounds boring. Maybe I should listen to it more? Idk, you tell me.

Nevermore I like, existo was boring after the 3rd or 4th listen. I'll bet these are two of the best tracks off the album, if not the two best for sure.

Nevermore is better.
With that said, I don't particularly like either of them. In my opinion, they greatly lack the character of earlier releases, and if Illud doesn't have something like a Beneath the Hollow then I probably won't like it in the least.

Re: Nevermore and Existo Vulgore
I like Existo better. After hearing the entire album version today Nevermore still feels representative of / connected to the last three years of touring and dishonesty. I always thought it might have been more appropriate had Nevermore never been recorded in the studio for I, but rather released on an official live recording (like Waldrock 08) that might have served as an epitaph for the Greatest Hits setlist. But since it was recorded for I, the biggest bummer for me was that slow middle part, which I disliked instantly and continued to dislike, and I'd always hoped they'd at least dress that shit up a little, which they did not. I don't get that part at all.
Nevermore and Existo are the two songs I'm least excited by, Existo only because it's so similar in parts to Nevermore. Anyway, it looks like I'm in w/a slim minority on the MABB but based on the samples I'm far more excited to hear the more out-there shit. Despite the gay-ness of the Combichrist remix the lp version of Destructos sounds fuckin awesome! Too Extreme has the "warped vinyl" guitars I've not heard since the old days. A bunch of the traditional songs sound awesome as well, but aren't quite as intruiging, IMO. I've been as negative towards MA as anyone else over the past few years, but after hearing the teasers on Amazon and finally hearing some fresh insight on the new stuff from the articles posted in another thread, I'm absolutely down with the new album. Being down with the new album makes it a hell of a lot easier to distinguish, and remove myself from, what are clearly two dead prior incarnations of the band.

Re: Nevermore and Existo Vulgore
These are good songs, not the best MA have recorded, but good enough ! But I'm sure I will prefer other songs from Illud (10 more dead, beauty meets beast, blades for baal...)...based on the samples I've heard !

Re: Nevermore and Existo Vulgore
I like em' both, but Existo a little more. The main riff when David goes "Vulgore!!" is great. also the song sounds a little more like Domination and a bit of Covenant to me than Nevermore. wich I like.

I say give it another listen. I can appreciate it much more hearing the words clearly via the stream or MP3. It seems more in line with what I would expect from Morbid Angel lyric wise as the progressed from F onward, and I do like the solos. BUT Existo seems to have more of a punch to it and little more dirtier (raw) sound. Perhaps it was written years after Nevermore. I understand it that Nevermore was one of the first Trey had written after Heretic (though I very well may be totally wrong about this)
Lyrically I like Nevermore, but musically I like Existo.
