Will you still go to see them LIVE on the ILLUD Tour ?

Here are my thoughts on last night. Keep in mind when i saw them last in 2009 I thought they were fucking great. This time though something felt missing (not Sandoval) but they seemed to get better as they tore through the set. Either way it didn't affect their playing which was absolutely brilliant. If there were fuck ups, I didn't hear them. The setlist was similar to the "classics" list, with a few changes that really made the show better (more from Blessed!). On a disappointing note they only played 2 from "I", and did not attempt any of their controversial tracks. If "I" is where there heads are at they should fucking play the songs, anything else is cheating the fans. MA is the last band I would expect to wimp out on this subject. I also found it interesting they played a lot of songs in pairs from an album, as well as starting the show by playing the 1st track from A-B-C in succession. Anyways, from memory this is what they played. the order is out of whack, fairly certain the 1st 9 tracks are correct though.

Immortal Rites

Fall From Grace

Rapture

Pain Divine

Blasphemy

Existo Vulgore

Nevermore

Angel of Disease

Lord of all Fevers and Plagues

Blessed are the Sick

Day of Suffering

Chapel of Ghouls

Maze of Torment

Sworn to the Black

Dawn of the Angry

Where the Slime lives

Bil-ur-sag

God of Emptiness

World of Shit

Also, maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I am fairly certain they played another Formulas track after Bil-ur-sag. Not 100% sure mind you, more like 80%.

It was a great show, hopefully the rest of the tour is at least this good. And Tim was great on drums btw. You can tell its not Pete but I prefer it that way. Tim is Tim, and he shouldn't have to sound like anyone else. :bang:

Yep, what he said. Although my 2 year old alarm clock woke me up at 6:30am today, I feel like absolute garbage after only a few hrs sleep. Nobody ever seems to talk about how much they make you laugh though, only about the work and effort involved (which is HUGE by the way).

thanks for the report! i honestly feel a lot better about potential tours in the coming year now. of course, it remains to be seen if we'll see more of I represented after the album actually releases, and i expect we'll probably see a few more tracks from that showing up in the future. i have to imagine they're not going to lean heavily on it since it hasn't been released and nobody's really familiar with the material yet. i'll be looking forward to hearing about the euro shows over the summer

my memory is kinda hazy here, so maybe someone else can correct me, but i can't recall ever seeing them do angel of disease at any of the dozen-odd shows i've been to. the lack of gateways representation is still disappointing, but i guess most of us have grown accustomed to that by now :redneck:

I dont know, the album is out in a few weeks they should really be playing the shit out of the best tracks NOW to get people interested. As it stands right now, they have only played the tracks that we have already heard so if you weren't sold on buying it before the show, you probably still wont be.

And yes, I am incredibly bitter they didn't play Blades for Baal.

That's what I'm guessing, though I think it's a stupid idea. They should be playing the new material more now.

They did AOD once during an official gig and that was at Waldrock in The Netherlands early 90's just after Blessed came out.

It is on the Angel of disease bootleg bootleg.

It's going to be pretty quiet tomorrow in 013: I read that only 900 of the 2400 tickets are sold. At least Centurian and Severe Torture play before MA. Would be nice to meet Uni but I don't know how he looks like haha

I'd really like to see them, but they haven't done any clubshows in sweden since 2005, they visited Sweden Rock this week, wich was the first gig in sweden since 2005 aswell. I don't understand why.....

I would for sure if they played a little closer to where I am. Some of the Illud songs would be a good addition to their set. Freshen things up a bit, they've done the same thing for too long. I'm not buying an Illud shirt. I'd like to have another shirt, something from Blessed/Covenant would be nice.

I'm not attending the gig in Katowice in August, but I'm probably seeing them on fruital Assault so it's ok with me

EDIT: Oh yeah, if I did want to see them I wouldn't even be able to because MA forget Georgia exists as so many bands do despite having a thriving Metal scene here. Fuck you MA tour management.[/quote]

lol what? Atlanta gets 90% of all the major metal tours in this country. you're a fucking idiot or listen to waaaay too many obscure bands if you think other wise.

Well...Tilburg was a blast!!! I was sceptical beforehand but they did a crushing gig!

Sadly didn't see Uni walking around since it was a bit crowded. Centurian and Severe Torture played very good as well!! I still love songs like Evoking demonstorms, Of purest fire and Feces for Jesus, I missed Baptized in virginial liquid though :bang: :bang: :bang:

MA didn't play Lions den nor Vengenace is mine sadly, but Angel of disease (a more speeded up version) and World of shit was the last song. No encore though.

If I remember correctly, these songs were played:

Immortal rites

Fall from grace

Rapture

Pain divine

Where the slime live

Dawn of the angry

Angel of disease

God of emptiness

Sworn to the black

Maze of torment

Lord of all fevers and plague

Chapel of ghouls

Bil ur sag

Existo vulgore

Nevermore

World of shit

and I am morbid spontaniously when the crowd got chanting.

I am morbid was on the setlist. I stood behind the Front of house mixer. And could follow the setlist song by song as it lay there.

Best gig sinds the DV reunion. It is just as if they read some comments on here. David talked in his normal voice during announcements not the less impressive shouting and seemed to be sincerely enjoying himself. The stage presense is a bit static compared to old MA but Tim was fun to watch. He really put on a show and played good. Trey was in orbit around some gas-giant as usual. His rig is reduced to a few pedals and a g-major. He uses a RAT stompbox now, not the Rdu2. Probably due to weight and size.

The stage looked awesome with all the Illud banners and backdrop, very impressive. I am still not excited about Illud but they remain the KIngs.

Kudo's to Centurian, Rob is always cool to watch.

Ok, I was on second row, in front of Thor and right next to the slampit: from there I am Morbid seemed spontaneous. Boring song though, it made me pick my nose: it had more depth then the song.

Some cool pictures of the show:

<!-- m -->http://www.achromemoments.nl/photobook/ ... bid-angel/<!-- m -->

BTW I talked to Punchy about the absence of Trey and Pete in the Tales from the sick docu: he said that Trey doesn't like to be filmed (which explains indeed) and Pete just didn't show up.. :homework:

yes. i will see them on the illud tour, if they play in portland. i would be willing to drive to seattle if i have to.

my girlfriend is 21 and has never gotten to see morbid angel. she doesn't really go to shows unless it is something special, and morbid angel is something special, regardless of what i think of the new album. judging by the set list it should be a good show, although i would have rather had her see the tucker lineup. but who knows if we'll have another chance to see them. the only other concerts she has seen was brittney spears when she was a kid, and eminem when she was in ninth grade.

i think the last time they played in portland was 2004 with suffocation and premonitions of war. i missed that one cause i was on tour, roadie-ing for a friends no-wave band.

as far as t-shirts go, probably not. money is tight these days. i already have a morbid angel tshirt.

the last good metal show i went to was angelcorpse, ares kingdom, and gospel of the horns, which was a LOOOOONG ass time ago, so i'm due.
