have you read any of the old republic books?

I enjoyed KOTOR a great deal, but not enough to play this. If I ever play another MMO it will probably be Guild Wars 2.

There are three books released because of the game coming out:



The Old Republic: Revan by Drew Karpyshyn (approx 3950-3945 BBY) - Not out yet but will be as Drew Karpyshyn wrote some other great books (see below) He also was lead writer on KOTOR, Mass Effect 1+2, Baldurs Gate 2 and The Old Republic.

The Old Republic: Deceived by Paul S. Kemp (3653 BBY) (A) - This one is pretty good, centres on Darth Malgus (who features prominently in all the cinematics, he has the breathing apparatus and armour)

The Old Republic: Fatal Alliance by Sean Williams (Sometime after 3653 BBY) (A) - This book is just ok but has alot of stuff with the sith council which is pretty



Darth Bane: Path of Destruction by Drew Karpyshyn (1003-1000 BBY) (A)

Darth Bane: Rule of Two by Drew Karpyshyn (1000 BBY-990 BBY) (A)

Darth Bane: Dynasty of Evil by Drew Karpyshyn (980 BBY)



The three Darth Bane books are really REALLY good. They aren't linked the games (as you can see they take place a long time after) but Darth Bane was the Sith Lord who created the rule of two. One Master and One apprentice.



I would say they are all worth reading if you like this stuff, I'm not so much into the novels around and after the movies but the old republic stuff I find really enjoyable and cool.

i'm still sticking to the only MMO i've ever really played, once i'm done with that i'm finished with the genre altogether

I like what I see out of Guild Wars 2 because it appears to be trying something different with its game mechanics. There are classes, but archetypes are kind of done.

I pity the people that paid for Final Fantasy XIV.

i was almost one of them! i was super excited before it came out, was set to build a new PC and everything. in a sense i'm glad that didn't pan out, haha. i played for a bit over at my fellating lover's house a couple months ago, the game in its current state is just horrendous. i have faith they can eventually turn it into a good game, especially having seen what they've done with XI over the years, but i doubt if it'll ever manage to get a sizable player base at this point. sad really.

Why does bioware attract this much flak? I'm playing through my old Baldurs Gate (with tutu) and it's as awesome as I remember. Also, those mass effect games are supposed to be awesome.
