New Pete interview
I was kind of surprised to see this posted by the admin on Morbid Angel's Facebook page, especially with Pete's comments about the new album:
<!-- m -->http://somextremo.blogspot.com/2011/09/ ... doval.html<!-- m -->
Scroll all the way down for the English version. It's not too interesting overall, but here are the highlights, which make Pete's opinion of the new album clearly known, hehe.
Som Extremo: What is your opinion about the new album of Morbid Angel - “Illud Divinum Insanus”?
Sandoval: NO COMMENTS! I DON´T PLAY ON THAT ALBUM!
Som Extremo: If you had recorded the album, what do you think you would have done different in “Illud Divinum Insanus”?
Sandoval: MORE EXREME DEATHGRIND METAL AND LESS DJ, BORING AWEFULL TYPICAL I CARE LESS INDUSTRIAL EXPERIMENTAL SAME AS EVERYBODY BORING BULL!
THIS IS NOT WHAT MORBID HAS BEEN ALL ABOUT! .......HMMMMMM AND I REALLY CARE LESS...!

Pete would've kicked Trey's ass with his combat boots and blastbeated furiously over every attempt at doing the dj stuff..

Re: New Pete interview
I think he's played the "I haven't heard the whole things yet" in the interviews I've seen. but those interviews were a couple of months old by now. I guess he's heard it now but won't say anything about it and will likely hope that no interviewers in the future ask him about it.

he's heard it - he was one of the engineers on the album.

Yeah I know. that's what's so weird about his comebacks to the question in the interviews I've seen. Perhaps he just hadn't heard the album at that point maybe. But yeah I can't think why he'd like the album...

Re: New Pete interview
When he was on tour here with HE he only heard the songs he tracked without vocals and partial guitars. He thought the music of the recorded tracks was typically MA.
He actually asked Void and me about the techno tracks as he had not received (and heard) the complete album from them. I'm sure he heard it by now.

I could have fucking guessed they would keep him in the dark. Rutan would have kicked Trey's ass big time methinks.
That interview with Pete is awesome

Re: New Pete interview
Haha, no he wouldn't.
He, of course, still has major respect for MA because they became his family through all those years. It has certainly be an enormous experience for Erik so I can only agree with him on what he feels for Morbid.

Re: New Pete interview
maybe its the poor translation
but the way pete was saying things really sounds like he could care less to return to morbid angel.
Excerpt :
"Far Sound: How's your back? When you return to Morbid Angel?
Pete Sandoval: My back is still healing, but I can not wait any longer. I'm playing on my drums with or without pain, is to do it or die slowly! NO PAIN, NO ACHIEVEMENT. By now, everyone knows about me and the return of Terrorizer early next year with our new hard and fruital, and a world tour, I hope so. There will be a pause in Morbid Angel for a few years or something. I'm concentrating on having fun with Terrorizer for a few years, and I know that anyone who loves to grind enjoy witnessing the band live for the first time! Just know that I can not wait"
Sound Extreme: What band prefers, Terrorizer and Morbid Angel? Why?
Sandoval: I love variations in life, then say it tastes great and had fun playing all these years in Morbid Angel, but I also have the desire and ambition to experience the phenomenon of "grinder-that-never-to" Terrorizer! It'll be fun! J is another stop, and really can not wait to play live next year!

Did you plug that into google translate or something? They posted their own translation below the interview.
Sandoval: I love variation in life, so I would say i love and I have enjoyed all these years playing with Morbid Angel but I also have the desire and ambition to experience the phenomenom of grinding the neverstopping one foot blast with Terrorizer!!! This is gonna be fun!!
It's another zone!! I can't hardly wait to play live next year!!!
