Re: Berserk film - complete unsubbed.
well, it's been licensed for distribution in north america, but no word on a release date yet. they just announced that last month, so i'm assuming it's probably a ways off, i wouldn't expect to see a US release until the end of the year.
on the plus side, since it's out on bluray in japan, we can expect to see subtitles for it within the next week or two.

the encode quality isn't very good, but i guess that's obvious given the file size. translation is perfectly serviceable though. kinda surprised they didn't upload something a little higher quality, there's plenty of flawless raw encodes floating around

Re: Berserk film - complete unsubbed.
i'd been checking weekly since the japanese BD release for a quality english translation of part 2, this one took quite a bit longer than the first movie. i got distracted and forgot to check for a couple of weeks, but it's finally out now

<!-- m -->http://www.nyaa.eu/?page=torrentinfo&tid=393430<!-- m --> 1080P
currently getting ~1.5MB/sec down on the 720 torrent
also the north american release for the first movie was last month as well, so there should be a dubbed version of that floating around now. haven't gotten around to checking that out yet 'cuz i don't really care about english VA's, but some folk might

There's something about this movie that isn't really appealing to me. It's probably the animation.

i like the animation for the most part, and the action/battle scenes are fantastic. they've definitely hacked up the character development considerably, since they've had to drop a lot of plot/subplot material due to time constraints. i don't necessarily mind that part since i'm already well familiar with the plot and characters in this arc of the series. as i believe i mentioned in the movie thread, i'm guessing they're skipping on a lot of that stuff for the golden age arc because most people watching it have probably already seen the original series. i just wonder if they're going to continue in a similar fashion for the post-eclipse material

I cannot wait until post-eclipse. I must admit, I've never read the manga past this point due to pretty terrible translation and the fact I have real trouble reading it on a PC.

Re: Berserk film - complete unsubbed.
i don't know if there's scans floating around, but pretty much everything's been professionally translated at this point. dark horse started releasing them in the US in 2004 or so, and last i knew they were caught up with the most recent volume. the quality on those is lightyears ahead of the fan translations, definitely worth checking them out if you can get your hands on them.
i bought the first 7-8 volumes as they came out, then got impatient and started reading the scans on spectrum nexus (which are indeed pretty terrible). eventually once i can afford to blow the money i'll buy the rest of them and re-read it.

The ones on spectrum nexus aren't uniformly bad. There are a few episodes which aren't done well. But much of the recent stuff is I'd say very well done.
