You live relatively close to the Washington Monument, don't you? And the Statue of Liberty, and Abraham Lincoln's shrine. And then there are several president's heads carved into an entire mountain in South Dakota, which is close to Crazy Horse.

Those examples are small in comparison.

Here is a side-by-side with Liberty (46m tall) and a few others. The large example is the Spring Temple Buddha, just 18m higher (128m tall) than the Ushiku Daibutsu (110m tall) I showed above.

The chart is total monument height, by the way. The numbers I gave do not include their base structures.
