Your first Morbid Angel Song?
Blasphemy was my first but I didn't know it was MA at the time
The first time I really listened to them was Where The Slime Live. It was one of the first death metal songs I'd ever heard.

When I was still in high school, I saw Where the Slime Live on television. It left an impression on me. Later I bought the Domination album and at that time it was perfect in every way. Then some months later, I heard Rapture, and it was the most fruital song ever for me up to that point.

Re: Your first Morbid Angel Song?
summoning redemption. i bought the cd at a morbid angel gig that i attended because i wanted to check out death metal. i'd never heard them before. nice intro to death metal, huh? i listened to it in my car and was blown away, then i went inside and they opened with it.
Treys solo tone actually sounds a bit thin to me on Domination. It's definitely got a wah sound to it, even if he's not moving it with food it sounds like he has it turned on.
Heaving Earth.
it's brutality blew me away, and since I was used to Metallica's Ride the Lightning and such, this came as an atom bomb onto my ears.

First it was Enshrined by Garce video. I thought something like "Man this is pretty fucking fruital and evil" I was around 11 years or so. After that i saw the video of Rapture and I was so convinced that this was the best music that i've heard so I took my bike and went into the city and searched for Covenant. They changed my life HEAVILY. I think i stayed at my room for like 2 years just listening to Morbid Angel, i didn't meet any friends or anything at the time. Suddenly I started to understand their message and once again they changed my life.

This is just what happened to me. I thought Metallica and Megadeth were the heaviest things I'd ever heard. And then.. my world was turned upside down.

Immortal Rites.
A fellating lover of mine recommended me to start listening Morbid Angel with Altars of Madness. Since the first track of the album is Immortal Rites, that same first track started my relationship with Morbid Angel.

I think it was Visions From The Dark Side..A fellating lover lent me a heap of tapes with crazy metal bands on them and that riff just always stood out.I can still remember a couple songs by other bands on there but have never heard them again and don't know the band names!I should really type a tab to see if anyone knows. It may be completely wrong though cause I don't know the tunings.

After two of these the power chord changes to C with the same notes player underneath it...X2 again then the power chord gos to A,again with the same notes played underneath it.This was an extremely slow song.Anyone know it?

God of Emptiness on Beavis & Butthead. Then, on a recommendation from an awesome ex-girlfriend, I went out and bought Covenant.

I was 18 when AOM came out.. So I'm about 4 years older than you.

Lord of All Fevers and Plagues, 1998
i was just an internet n00b back there and was searching for music inspired by Lovecraft and came upon a website that listed a ton of it. the name Morbid Angel intrigued me (even though it was noted that they only took influence from the "Simon" edition of the Necronomicon and not HPL proper) so i checked out the song (thanks, Napster!
) that was fastest to download. was instantly hooked so i ended up "acquiring" the rest of their albums

I think Fall From Grace, cause my first MA album was Blessed are the Sick after buying it from the one who recommend me that album because he brags me all the time that BatS were the best MA album.

The first Morbid Angel album I bought was "Covenant," and was also my first death metal album actually... Deicide's "Legion" was next.... but anyways, as C was my first album logically "Rapture" was the first MA song I've heard. Still as electrifying as to this day as it was the first time.

Re: Your first Morbid Angel Song?
The first song for me was Blasphemy. Then Rapture and God of Emptiness. All of this was on Uranium, Headbanger's Ball, in Blasphemy's case, random download while checking bands out. I wasn't blown away to be honest with you all. It didn't help that the first album I have ever bought from MA was Heretic. But I will say that when I finally bought Covenant and Formulas, I became a fan. But it took me all the way up to my first year of college for this to happen.

Re: Your first Morbid Angel Song?
I discovered Morbid Angel when blessed are the sick came out, it was at a cousin's place, I'm not sure of the the first song I've heard from the album but it was probably brainstorm (still one of my favourite songs of the band). At that time I was listening to other death-metal bands, but I found MA so darker than everything I've ever heard before...

Re: Your first Morbid Angel Song?
Technically the first song I heard of theirs was Dawn of the Angry, because I played it straight out of a lesson in Guitar World before I'd properly heard any Morbid Angel. After that, probably Chapel of Ghouls or Where the Slime Live.

Need a new signature? Why not Zoidberg? (V) (;,,;) (V)
