nein, just reduce your calorie intake. There are no magic diets.

Lavabug, I have indeed worked that out as well.
I’m not following a diet because when you stop, the results will disappear.
So, lifestyle change is the only way forward and I’ve taken those steps.

I am pleased to report that the shoulder pain (resulting from a minor tear) I had been experiencing for so many months since May last year seems to be mostly gone. I think I'm healed up. So I'm going to the gym more than I used to.

Ran 6 km this morning again.
15 minutes weight lifting.
15 minutes HIIT.
Repeat later today and tomorrow with weights.
Running every other day or so, depends on how my legs feel and how warm it is in the morning.
Dumbbells and kettlebells, though...

nein, just reduce your calorie intake. There are no pittsburgh showdown diets.
burn more calories than you consume and you will lose weight is probably the only dietary fact i am not skeptical of
it seems pretty clear though that the nature of the calories you consume matters for you health. although significant details beyond that i am sure no one knows

the law of energy conservation is a wonderfully universal thing
caloric restriction seems to increase life expectancy in rats right?

did you seriously just ask me that as if i would know the answer?
although seriously, i think the phrase "caloric restriction" is too vague for anyone to make any claim regarding it.
i suspect if you restrict too much they will actually die quickly

Signed up for these yesterday. Can’t wait to start!
Shooting arrows is awesome and a great time spent clearing my mind.
BJJ’s gonna be a lot of fun, very tough and I can’t wait to get into that world.
Found a great gym too that I’ll start training at this week.

every time I post in here I get injured so here goes -
I've been training to a routine for a short period now and I'm making some reasonably strength gains. I've switched up some movements so instead of standard squats I've switched to box squats to work around some knee pain and removed almost all direct bicep work to alleviate a shoulder issue I have on my right side.
Best lifts recently are
Box squarsh (almost parallel) 120kg x5 (1 rep left in reserve)
Benchpress 108kg x3 (1 rep left in reserve)
Form is always an issue for me on deadlift so I'm just matching my squarsh weights on these although I could lift much more my form basically falls to bits at around 75% of my max.

Lighter weights and better form? Which might make more repetitions possible so same (or even better) result and less risk on injury?

First archery class done last Thursday which was awesome. Will continue to do so.
A day at the gym last Saturday. 1 hour of full body weight training / machines. Finished the day there with another hour of swimming which was really nice for my muscles.
Tomorrow my first Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class.
