Re: Stimulus
i never got any stimulus, can i has some please
i have lost close to US$20,000 from COVID-19 if you add all the expenses and everything together. my income right now is US$300 per week and i have US$320 per week in rental expenses (renting two apartments), without food etc. i am bleeding even further out. when i get back to myanmar finally some time this year i will have maybe only US$7,000 to my name, full stop. it will be like starting all over again.

Between me and the wife we'll have $11 leftover after the mortgage payment!Skinfection wrote: ↑03 Jan 2021, 10:19I don't think $600 would cover anyone's rent anywhere in the states

Re: Stimulus
i live cheaply everywhere, the problem with COVID year for me is everything got doubled. so i am renting two apartments, i had to buy second sets of consumer goods in australia, etc.Skinfection wrote: ↑03 Jan 2021, 09:29Dang. That's really no bueno. Is the cost of living in Myanmar relatively cheap at least?
if i was a different person i would have come back to australia and gone to live with my mum and not bought a car etc. etc. and just bunkered down, would have saved maybe $12,000 but i am not that person

Re: Stimulus
Yea good luck getting back on track.
I don't know why the fuck you keep talking about going to Mynamar. Seems you would make more money staying in Australia. Also the risks of catching Covid are higher there. Getting a vaccine doesn't make you 100% immune and that's a problem because a lot of people in Mynamar are not going to be vaccinated.

I'd start a business with Luke, brewery or something if he wanted to partner up, and if I had a way to be physically involved, he wasn't located at the opposite end of the world.

it's never been about the money with me deep down, i do like to bitch about money though
nearly all my peers from school and university have made different life decisions and partnered up and bought houses and had babies but i was still living the dream until COVID

Re: Stimulus
After talking it over with the wife we decided to donate ours to the local food bank. we're not wealthy by any means - hell, I'm probably in the bottom tier of income when compared to the rest of my family. Still, we live a pretty comfortable life all things considered - there are certainly people who are worse off through no fault of their own than us. I don't know if karma is real but I'd like to think so.
