My grandma passed away today. First time I’ve ever heard or seen my dad cry.

Sorry to hear that jorsh. Hope your Dad handles the grief well. My own father was a fucking mess when his mother died and it also really fucked up that side of the family, none of the siblings really talk to each other anymore
This is definitely the decade that our surviving grandparents will pass away. I have 2 out of 4 left

she was old school. i had a couple in the generation above (my great grandmother, her brother) who made it to the gloryhole era but the next generation under them seems weaker

That's a hell of a run. That's what age all my grandparents would be if they were still around, but lost them all many years ago

Thanks guys. Many good times were had with them when I was a youngin and over the years. Lots of my first memories were staying overnight with them and helping my grandma bake. She loved baking. Best cookies and bars ever.

grandmas
its funny, I'll never ever think of my mother's cooking the same as my grandma's. even as an adult there was just something about it that made it amazing.
I've got one grandparent left and I really don't know for how much longer... he turned 101 last September. their twin brother died a couple of months before that.
gotta cherish the time you have and the memories.
