For just me yes but the issue is my brother has services to help him be more independent. They’re not good in California but they are better than nothing and he likes the people who work with him currently.

It gets complicated because there are waiting lists and every state us different so because of him I’m probably stuck in California for a long time, but the cost of living and the fact they keep cutting already sub par services I want to get us out so we will see.

My heart really goes out to folks who don’t have family or an advocate, they’re who I worry about.

That’s exciting Skinner, I was planning on going in 2022/23 before the pandemic now they’re so strict on bringing dogs into the country I’m not sure I’ll ever get to go unless my parents are willing to babysit the service dog

It’s a bucket list for so many of us.

Have the house finished as much as possible, maybe a home gym in the garage.
Perhaps a team lead position within the company I work for.

Training a lot of jiu jitsu and being on the mats with friends 3 to 4 days a week.

Travel wise with my lady and doggo, Norway is on the top of the list.
Planning for a road/camping cruise from NL to Norway, through Germany, Denmark, Sweden and then to Norway. :grimsanta:

i used to ask myself this all the time but in this period i have no plans, no goals, etc.

might be able to start looking for a house next year if prices come back down. i guess that's all i really want right now at this point in my life, more space and privacy. would love to not live in a shoe box anymore

Well, it sounds like you do have some goals. And they seem to be pretty clear.

Just the how is the question now I think.

Another goal is your album man!!

Yeah that’s some bullshit. One thing I found with renting is if it’s too good to be true than it probably is. Still, if you are at all able to do so, rent from an individual owner and not some property management company - though that seems to be more rare these days.

consider buying somewhere because the mortgage in some cases can cost less than rent. and then you are actually putting money towards an asset

Being near the Bay Area I’m laughing at 200k

Homes here, even dumps, over a mil. The coasts are ridiculously overpriced especially considering the mass exodus out of California.

1: have lost at least 50 pounds, ideally 75 (I've started doing 10km a day on high resistance on my exercise bike on top of all the actual cycling I do, and have also cut down my meal sizes and am working on reducing the beer intake)

2: have finished recording the first Psychic Bongshroom album (space-stoner-doom, think 'Space Ritual'-era Hawkwind if Iommi wrote the riffs, Jon Lord was on keyboards and they had at least half-decent guitar solos), and maybe the second M87 dark space ambient album (only 25 years after the first which must be some kind of record :redneck:)

3: have finished building my Beercaster guitar (a partscaster Tele covered in multifarious beer labels)

4: have finally learned to use my airbrush

5: have finally acquired a Les Paul of some sort

cutting down the beer intake is probably the most important out of all those. i can only consistently lose weight if i confine it very strictly to weekends.

True - I've been drinking too much since my mother first got ill 2 years ago and way too much since she died in February; so I figure now's a good time to make a positive change. I've lost 8 pounds already and have definitely gotten a lot tighter in the legs, also seen the gut become concave rather than convex on the sides and noticing more definition around my face & shoulders. Slow & sustainable is always the way to go with fitness & weight loss stuff, though, no point being thin & miserable.
