I put up a few items for sale, but it just creeps me out. Feels like a scammers paradise. I gave out my name and phone number via an email exchange and instantly regretted it, and took my postings down. I'm not going back there again.

i'd probably use facebook marketplace over craigslist, might be less scams on there since you can comment on listings and stuff

ebay is also an option

Much like eBay it used to be useful. I actually found a place I rented on there years ago. Just seems like it’s nothing but scammers now.

yeah, i got a fellating lover that still buys/sells on CL. a lot of the action has been siphoned off by FB in recent years

it being a scammers paradise is not a new phenomenon however, that has always been and always will be the case. so too for facebook though; most of the people that got swept up in our massive fraud wave (my own back of the envelope numbers pegged losses in the tens of millions, but i never heard an official number) at work a few years ago were all recruited via facebook. there's no platform/technological solution to fraud, there's always going to be some percentage of people that fall for it and absolutely nothing save the total obliteration of humanity will ever change that.
