I got out of the security gig in 2018. Started doing parts at a car dealership.

The unemployment stopped here but it's slow going. Our problem is we legit need people who know the job, really don't have the time to be able to train anyone from the ground floor.

Yeah I imagine y’all get a lot of warm bodies like we do in caregiving. Most people see a job as just a paycheck and it can be flat out dangerous.

I have some (now that time has passed) hilarious stories and sone flat out scary ones from just our home as I’m sure anyone who deals with people do.

Warm bodies aka untrained, unqualified folks who don’t care or are incapable of doing the job


One that’s both we had one sexy leopard elevator come in whp was supposed to do a 10 hour shift with my brother and I thought ok because she’s worked before and is very sweet.

I take my dog for a walk and go to make dinner, my brother comes running to me and us trying to say her name. I go check and she’s asleep in his bed. I try to wake her abs she’s clearly in drugs or something. She said she had diabetes so we have her juice and I call her boss to report this abs tell her I’m calling an ambulance.

Her boss seems unphased and tells me she’s calling her mother to come get her. This is a big red flag and at this time she is literally stuffing my brothers face with food. I walk back to them abs tell her he’s had enough she walks to me, wraps her arms around me, kisses my cheek and tells me “she fucking loves me”.

Her mom comes and picks her up shortly after abs acts like it’s nothing. Turns out she was being abused by her boyfriend abs they suspect he drugged her when she snuck out to see him.

Was bizarre, funny, sad, and scary all at once. I regally wonder what happens at homes without another person living with clients.

I’ve had people do things like smoke pot in our bathroom, sleep on the job, the usual. Thar was the weirdest incident, apart from when someone propositioned my dad for sex when I was out of town.

My dad was working (we live in a duplex next door to our parents). He was in his office and she knocks to ask to buy a movie to watch with brother.

After buying the movie she walks and knocks again and asks my dad “do you like being with younger women”. My dad being the smart man he is tells her no abs goes back to working.

He should have called and reported it because he goes over 10 minutes later and she is gone, as is my brother.

Five minutes later her boss comes back with my brother abs tells my dad to talk to the owner or her boss.

Basically she claimed he propositioned her which he didn’t and we all had to file incident reports about the whole thing.

This lady had asked if I was a lesbian abs given me makeup on her first day something was way off with her.

Yeahhh it’s a crapshoot who you get as a caregiver it’s scary. I find humor after because if I personally didn’t I’d lose my shit entirely.

In California they’re shifting to self directed so clients (the disabled) have more autonomy and say instead of agencies I hope other states do the same.

We don't even bother hiring people like that. Fully staffed it's a team of 8 people. Can't really carry dead weight with how busy we are. Already down 2 people and soon to be 3 temporarily.
