Major hair loss
When I noticed balding at the back of my head over a year ago, I became reconciled to it and said, "Fuck it, it is what it is." But what I admit I wasn't prepared for was how quickly the balding was going to spread to the top of my head. Hair has thinned out substantially there as well - and that's going to change my look pretty significantly in another year.
I'm not sure how to adjust to this new reality. I've considered going all bald, but concluded that it's not going to be a good idea because then there are 3 scars at the back of my head from childhood fights that become visible (no hair grows there) - which I think will be very distracting to people.
Are you having significant hair loss? How are you dealing with it?

Re: Major hair loss
i got some slight temporal recession in second year of college. was pretty freaked out at the time, and actually tried that rogaine stuff for a couple of months. dont know if it does anything. since then it actually has been pretty static for the last 16 or so years. until a month or so ago when i realised it has gotten noticeably worse. i would rather it didnt get worse, but i care enormously less than i would have back in the day

I'd be perfectly fine if it all fell out. Really ain't give no fucks about the hairs that reside on top of my dome.

Yea I tried minoxidil (the chemical Rogaine has) but following the daily routine was difficult for me so I gave it up long ago. As far as being conscious, I suppose if you were married you would less about it by some degree.

I got some power alleys going but it's not like I'd need to rock a combover or some shit to hide it.

Re: Major hair loss
the best way to deal with hair loss is to not care about it one bit because hair is not a defining individual characteristic

Bald as a coot here. Just shave it off. You can't have that Mr T cut any longer.

It's thinning but it's still worth it. Might need a different style in the future

I use rogaine. I don't think it's helping. I'll shave my head until it grows back
