Got my wisdom teeth pulled today

Fuck. Had one pulled a few years ago due to an infection but still had the other three. Went to the dentist last week for a cleaning and they gave me the bad news. Luckily was put under with anesthesia this time (last time was just a local) but was in and out in just over an hour. Now the healing begins. Take better care of your teeth y’all

Its not a bad recovery for kids and teens but for us old folks it rakes a few weeks. Hopefully they gave you some good stuff for recovery!

Which is why I didn’t have them all removed previously. I have a big mouth (heh) so spacing was never an issue, and they weren’t impacted. But I was having some nonspecific tooth pain recently and after examination it was determined that it was deferred pain from 2 of my wisdom teeth that had cavities, confirmed by X-ray. So it basically came down to getting all 3 instead of 2 removed since I seem to be prone to issues there. Luckily the rest of my teeth seem to be okay!

got all of mine out at the same time a few years ago after one became abscessed (two were cracked). anesthesia was wild, felt like i blinked and it was over.

be careful with the dry socket risks, i was terrified of it so i ate nothing but liquid foods for like a month

Got all 4 of mine removed at the same time at 18. One of the best decisions I’ve made.

i had mine taken out when i was nine years old and that anesthetic didn't work for shit, i was a sloppy slobbery crying mucoid mess

i had some pain with mine in my early 20s but it went away, i am very lucky with my teeth, all good over here into my mid 30s, no fillings
